Gallocanta Lagoon Interpretation Centre
The Interpretation Centre of the Gallocanta Lagoon is located in the road that joins the villages of Bello and Tornos. This centre has been refurbished as it was used some years before by the employees of the Ministry of Public Works. It is managed by the Aragon Government and assisted by environmental educators from the Aragon Natural Network.
Here, you will receive all the information you may need to enjoy this Natural Reserve, being able to go on walking trips for bird watching and environmental interpretation. It offers a didactic exhibition about the creation of the lagoon, understanding how is at present and how conditioning factors may alter its state. It also connects the reality of the area with an adapted vegetation full of reedbeds and tamarisk groves, that contrast with the farmlands (cereal and potato crops).
In general, the centre opens during the weekends, although in November and December, coinciding with the migratory passages of the cranes, it is opened from Thursday to Sunday. Over this period free guided tours are organized being necessary to book in advance as the places are limited.
For further information is recommended to call in first and ask about. You can find the phone number and more information at the Interpretation Centre´s website.
